Jonathan Raven Ocasek Career

Jonathan Raven Otcasek’s parents are notable figures in the music and entertainment industry. His father, Ric Ocasek (March 23, 1944 – September 15, 2019), was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. Ric was known for being the lead vocalist, guitarist, and frontman of the rock band “The Cars.”

Similarly, his mother, Paulina Porizkova (born April 9, 1965), is a Czech-American model, actress, and author. Their story began when they met during the filming of a music video for Ric’s band, ‘The Cars,’ in 1984. At that time, Paulina was 19 years old, while Ric was 40 and still married to his second wife, Suzanne.

Ric later divorced his second wife and married Paulina on August 23, 1989, in a private ceremony on Saint-Barthelemy Island. However, after nearly three decades together, they decided to separate in 2018. Tragically, the process of divorce was halted by Ric’s unexpected death from a heart attack in 2019.

Before his passing, Ric Ocasek had expressed his desire to exclude his wife Paulina from his will, alleging that she had abandoned him before his operation. He also excluded her two sons, Jonathan and Oliver. Ric Ocasek was reported to have a net worth of approximately $40 million during his lifetime, while Paulina possesses a substantial net worth of $10 million.

Ric Ocasek released solo albums like ‘Beatitude’ (1982), ‘This Side of Paradise’ (1986), ‘Fireball Zone’ (1991), ‘Quick Change World’ (1993), and ‘Negative Theatre’ (1993). His albums with his band ‘The Cars’ included ‘The Cars’ (1978), ‘Candy-O’ (1979), ‘Panorama’ (1980), ‘Shake It Up’ (1981), and ‘Heartbeat City’ (1984). It’s worth noting that Ric Ocasek’s real name was Richard Theodore Otcasek, and his sons chose to retain the original spelling ‘Otcasek’ for their last name.

Jonathan’s mother, Paulina Porizkova, is a renowned model and actress born in Prostejov, Czechia. She faced challenges in her early years before her journey into modeling. After a friend applied makeup on her and submitted photos to agencies in Paris, her career took off. She gained fame and was featured in various publications. In 1988, she signed a groundbreaking modeling contract worth $6 million with Estee Lauder, making her one of the highest-paid models. Paulina made history as the first Central European woman to appear on the Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover in 1984. She collaborated with several modeling agencies, including The Model CoOp, Premium Models, IMG Models, Traffic Models, and more.

Jonathan Ocasek also has four half-brothers named Christopher Ocasek and Adam Ocasek (born in 1970), who are Ric’s sons from his first marriage to Constance Campbell. Similarly, Eron Ocasek (born in 1973) and Derek Ocasek (born in 1981) are from Ric’s second marriage to Suzanne Ocasek.
