Paulina and Ric’s initial encounter happened during the filming of a music video for Ric’s band, ‘The Cars,’ back in 1984. At the time, Paulina was just 19 years old, while Ric, who was still married to his second wife, Suzanne, was 40. Paulina was the model for the song, and Ric was the co-singer in his band.

However, after five years, Ric divorced his second wife and had a private wedding with Paulina on August 23, 1989, on Saint-Barthelemy Island. Before this, Ric had been married twice. His first wife was Constance Campbell from 1963 to 1971, and his second wife was Suzanne from 1971 to 1988.
