Ramachari Komanduri Career

Ramachari Komanduri hails from the remote village of Pedda Gottimukkala in Medak, surrounded by forests. His father, Komanduri Krishnamacharyulu, served as a priest in a local temple. His early exposure to music happened when he accompanied his father to Bhajans and Harikatha. He began singing like his father and soon developed a deep love for music. After completing his schooling in Shivampet, he moved to Hyderabad for further studies.

During his college years, he worked part-time as a music teacher and also as a proofreader in a printing press to support his education. Later, he took on the role of a music teacher at All Saints High School and performed with the band Krishna Neeraj.

Before entering the world of films, Ramachari Komanduri gained experience in Akashvani and Doordarshan. He received training in Carnatic Classical Music from Kumari Oruganti Leelavathi Garu and in Light Music from Shri P.V. Sai Babu Garu. He participated in various shows such as Bala Vinodam and Lalitha Sangeetham. However, he achieved a breakthrough in 1996 when he became a finalist in the singing competition “Padutha Theeyaga Show,” hosted by S.P. Balasubrahmanyam.

His songs have featured in movies like Sambaram, Ramayanam, and Sri Ramadasu, and he has performed both within India and abroad in countries like America, Australia, Kuwait, and Dubai.

Ramachari Komanduri’s institute, LMA, focuses on recognizing talent and providing training in Light Music, including Geet, Ghazals, Patriotic songs, and some film songs, as well as Classical Music like Annamacharya, Ramadasu, and Purandharadasu keerthanalu. They teach essential singing techniques like breath management, emoting, and voice modulation. Students also gain real-time exposure to stage performances and recording studios, learning aspects like body language, microphone handling, and voice projection. Over the years, LMA has trained numerous children, including well-known singers like Deepu, Geetha Madhuri, Krishna Chaitanya, and many more.

Ramachari Komanduri is married to Sujatha Dhawala, and the couple has a son named Saketh and a daughter, Sony (Sahithi), both of whom are playback singers in the Tollywood film industry.
