The Gujarat Titans, the current Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, have opted to retain most of their team ahead of the upcoming mini-auction scheduled for December 23. Gujarat Titans Team 2023 IPL

Gujarat Titans is one of the two new teams added to the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the 2022 season, alongside the Lucknow Super Giants. In their debut season, the Titans became the IPL champions by winning their first game.

Gujarat Titans Team Players Auction 2023

Cricket fans eagerly awaited the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which was expanded to ten teams with the addition of Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants. The Mega auction held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13 saw all ten teams finalize their squads. Each of the eight existing teams was allowed to retain a maximum of four players, while the two new teams were allowed to select three players from the unretained players list.

The franchises received a total of 90 crore INR, with varying amounts depending on the players they retained and drafted. Each team had its own game plan for the auction, with some choosing to rebuild and others looking to re-sign former players.

This IPL auction also made history as 11 players received bids of INR 10 crore or more. Mumbai Indians paid the highest amount, INR 15.25 crore, to bring back wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan to their team.

CVC Capitals, the owner of Gujarat Titans 2023, won the bidding war with an impressive offer of 5,625 crores INR (over 692 million USD), which was 160 percent higher than BCCI’s base price for the IPL team.

Ahead of the upcoming season, Gujarat Titans 2023 franchise appointed Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya as their captain. Having previously played for the Mumbai Indians, Pandya helped Gujarat Titans to clinch their maiden IPL championship.

Pandya, who played a crucial role in the team’s title-winning campaign last year by scoring 487 runs and taking 8 wickets, has decided to stay with the franchise. Along with him, the team will also have the services of Shubman Gill, who scored 483 runs in 16 matches in the previous season.
